Dancers fresh out of college?

I'm a junior in high school and I just wanted to know what it is like for someone with a dance major right out of college? One day I hope to own a dance studio and I just wanted to how long that could take and how hard it is right out of college. #dancer #dance-teacher

Hi! I started dancing at a young age, and continued through college where I majored in Dance Management. Dance majors are very competitive as is opening a dance studio, but the most important part is finding something you are passionate about! I would recommend finding a dance program that focuses on dance education, this way you will leave school with not only knowledge of dance, but also how to teach. Opening a dance studio can be hard work, beginning your career teaching at an existing studio will give you practical expertise before starting on your own. If your area of focus allows for it, take business courses too. Opening a studio is just like beginning any other business: knowing how to write a business plan and how to fund your school will be crucial information along the way!
