I am not an engineer but I know many engineer professionals and the day of an engineer will highly depend on specialty - civil, chemical, electronic - and area of expertise - are they working with research? at a factory? at a construction site? are they technical support? sales. I recommend you narrow your question down to field of expertise and go from there.
