The domains I can think of are:
- recording companies like disk companies.
- any movie and animation companies.
- there are also medical study areas with music: that's call musicotherapy. They might be some applications there as well.

because music technology is a specialized field, you may have to work a little harder to find work, but when you do, I'm sure the work will be rewarding. Music technology can be applied in the world of recording of music and film. So you could become a recording engineer for either. It can be applied in the medical field in working with the handicapped. It can be used in creating music or taking it further to create devices that can be used in the creation of music. Since music has become more dependent on technology, there are many possibilities on how it can be used.

It is a narrow field. But biggest stars are born with highly specialized skills and passion in narrow field.
In addition to other suggestions, you could do several of the following:
You could consult to all kind of musical equipment makers - recording, mixing, dubbing, sound equipment makers, and even sound rooms, on how those equipment could be improved, make them simpler, cheaper, smaller and more pleasing.
You could be a stage consultant on how to set up all the musical equipment on the stage for the optimum quality of music delivery.
You may even create a new music instrument or software!
It is all up to your creativity, understanding and expertise, and how you apply to make it work for you.
As you study music technology I am sure you will come across more avenues than one can suggest and make you think how to leverage the opportunities.
Best wishes.
