Hi Mariana,

It would help if I knew what your other interests were and whether you wanted to pursue a community college or not, but creativity is a great skill to have. Creativity is something that is difficult to learn and for those that are naturals they should use it to their advantage. Creativity can be incorporated in many careers.

For example, creativity is required to make lessons plans as a teacher and to think about how to engage children in learning considering the different ways that different children learn (ie.visual, kinetic, auditory), you could be a home designer, an architect, a social event planner, graphic designer, advertising manager, copy writer, chef, fashion designer, interior decorator etc.

You also want to consider if you are happy to have creativity be at the core of your hobbies, volunteering, as a member of a committee etc. There are some jobs that don't allow for creativity because of stringent rules, but I think that there are also jobs that don't necessarily rely on creativity and for which creativity is a bonus to have though and can always be incorporated in the job.

All the best!

Tons of careers allow for creativity!
You could be a teacher and add a creative element to your lessons - especially if you decide to teach art, music, theater, or even history.
You could go into advertising and marketing, designing campaigns, ads, and brochures for organizations.
You could work for a museum or science center - giving tours, learning more about the exhibitions, and meeting with visiting schools.
There are also opportunities for creativity in business management, web/graphic design, fundraising, and even sales.

Hi Mariana,

Creativity has value in all types of businesses. When I think of being creative, it is about doing something in a different way than before. It may also be about making something look good. In my job as an Instructional Designer, I have to take content that needs to be trained and presenting it in the best way possible for the student. I have to make it interesting and some stuff is so boring that it takes creativity. So instead of a teacher teaching, I may videos. The best training requires student interaction. The creation of games for training can be very creative.

Your challenge is going to be how do you want use creativity? Some people like to paint or cook. Others like to plan meetings or lead marketing campaigns. Creativity is even important in jobs like physical trainer, where you need to change workouts to keep individuals engaged in their workouts.
