Air Force. I am still serving in IT even after retirement. Please feel free to reach out to me as I can help out with many questions you may have.
I have worked with Army IT during my last 3 years in Wiesbaden, Germany. Many similarities.

Hi, Brandon,
If the military is something you're interested in, I would definitely encourage you to thoroughly research what you actually want to do and to think critically about your motivation for joining. The media (including news sources, movies, video games, and television shows) paints an unrealistic portrait of what military life is truly like. If possible, I would also encourage you to leverage your network to actually talk to some veterans and current service members. For context, I was an Infantry Rifle Platoon Leader in the Army. While I look back fondly on the four years I spent in the Army, I also think that the experience differed drastically from my expectations.
I had limited experience with the Army's IT specialists but, generally, I would say there are exciting IT opportunities across all of the branches of service - you just need to identify which branch aligns best with your personality and what IT role in which you want to specialize. Check out the links below for some more information on the various IT functions for each branch.
I hope this helps - feel free to add comments to this response if you have any other questions. Good luck!

Jacob recommends the following next steps:
Historically, the Air Force has dominated things like cyber security and been a bit ahead of the curve with things like cyber security. That said, Navy, Marines, Army, and so on have all made the same push in past years, as the US Cyber Command has become such a big piece of the defense department.
My suggestion, talk to multiple recruiters from different branches of the service and see what jobs are available in the field you're looking for. The opportunities can be there with all the branches of the service, it is just a matter of what is the best fit for you and what is available.

All branches are technology driven but the Air Force, Navy and Space Force are the most so. As the Marine Corps is a subset of the Navy I suppose that might be the best for you if you don't want to consider the Air Force, which IMHO is the best option technology-wise. Best of luck.

Each branch has its own unique mission and distinct culture. The Air Force and Space Force are famous for their IT and technology departments and careers. They might be a better match for you, depending on your goals.

I am a Marine, and so I will typically be biased in favor of the Corps. In this case, however, the Army gets better funding, and has a lot broader range of jobs to offer. If IT is what you want, between those two branches, I would choose the Army. The Air Force, however, has a growing number of IT jobs, and might be a better branch for you. Speak to a recruiter for the Army and Air Force and see what options you get. There usually isn't a wrong choice, just a better choice.
Best of luck!
