It is great if you are interested in a STEM major in college. Your opportunities are truly endless. I majored in Operations Management and Information Systems and went into Technology Consulting.
The technology field is definitely booming so in high school, if you have the opportunity to take any computer science classes, I would highly recommend it because it will help you with your critical thinking and problem solving skills.
If there are any business clubs or classes, I would also take those and get more involved because you can further develop professional skills.
If you're interested in a specific STEM career, please let me know so I can be of further assistance.!

Hi Katrina,
That's great you are looking into different colleges! Well since STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, the job options for a graduate with a degree in these areas is nearly endless! Once in college, your studies will more likely focus a little more specifically on 1 of the 4 components of STEM, so for example, you may choose to study engineering specifically. Engineers have all sorts of options in pursuing a career with roles such as a mechanical engineer, a civil engineer, or an electrical engineer.
I think a great step for you would be to think about what sort of careers you are excited about. With that in mind, consider what parts of STEM will best prepare you for that career that excites you, so once you begin college, you will have an idea of what courses and major you should pursue to be best prepared for the career you are interested in. Finally, since you are interested in colleges that offer STEM degrees, do some research about what colleges and universities around you offer options in these STEM areas that best suit your needs.v
In summary, the broad term STEM literally encompasses hundreds of jobs. If there's a part of STEM that drives you, pursue it!
