Looked this question up online and was surprised to see that 16 is the minimum age in the US to work in an active construction site.

Minimums aside, though, you should factor in whether you could be considered for that kind of job. The first construction that comes to mind for me is heavy industrial types of stuff, which is both time-intensive (long shifts for many days on end), physically demanding (dirty, hot, heavy equipment and materials needing moved potentially), and dangerous (really, really dangerous for you, your coworkers, and neighboring communities). Other construction efforts like landscaping or less-industrial building construction are similarly demanding, and there's always an expectation for quality of work rendered that may be difficult to demonstrate at a young age.

Not sure what you're looking to do, but it never hurts to apply. Getting work in landscaping or a similar hands-on role may be a good first step for you if you want to get into construction? Participate in your school's theater group and help build sets for shows, take woodworking or metalworking classes if they're available.

If you don't have any background in manual labor and skilled trades, you will have a very hard time finding a company that wants to take on both the effort of training you and the risk of putting you to work.

Good luck!
