Is it okay to continue a medical course even if you are not passionate about it?

I have been studying Dentistry for 2 years in University now. I know I can finish Dentistry if I persist and carry on. But Dentistry just takes so long, and it exhausts me mentally, emotionally, and physically. I know I can get another job after I finish this degree, I am just having my doubts that maybe I am not fit or good enough. I do not know if the passion will grow in me. I am not quite sure if I am on the right path, or what path I would take if not. I just need some words to clear my head from overthinking. Life is clearly unpredictable. #careerpath #college #dentistry #confused #lost

It's never "okay" to waste time and money on something you are not passionate about. I suggest thinking back to why you started studying dentistry in the first place. Now after being in the program for about 2 years, you cannot ignore these feelings of exhaustion. However, you should brainstorm alternative career paths before ending the path you are on. Other things to consider are paying for the schooling you have already completed and making a living in the meantime.

Find a tutor on the course you feel may be good to talk to and ask them if they can have a discussion with yo about this. The same thing happened to me in my own law degree and i did speak to a tutor and nearly switched course. Know that many people do switch and there is nothing wrong / right - its about what works for you
