Depends on if you are looking to be a bachelors level social worker (4 year degree) or masters level social worker (4 year degree + 2 year graduate degree).
Once you have an MSW you can also become a clinical social worker if you choose (this requires two years of supervision and passing a state exam).
Generally speaking, the job opportunities and pay for BSW level social workers is limited and most people choose to at least complete a masters program (6 years of school post high school).

Hi Lanayjah:
Fastest way it to become a social worker is to attend an accredited university and major in social work. You should have an internship opportunity through your undergraduate program to gain hands-on experience as a student intern. This is also a good way to network, build professional relationships and learn about employment opportunities in the organization or other similar organizations.
Going on to graduate school in social work is definitely a good option for next level education and to be competitive in supervisory and/or management opportunities in social services.
Good luck in your studies and career,
