Is there any careers that combine civil engineering and architecture together?

I am in a PLTW class that is considered a Civil Engineering course, however we use lots of architecture as well. I really enjoy the class and I wanted to know if there was a way to find a career to combine the two later. #engineering #architecture

Niranjan’s Answer

Any major construction project such as building a home, a ship, a sky scarper, a bridge to name a few will require both architects and civil engineers. An architect will focus more on the the creative, artistic, and aesthetic features of a structure and a civil engineer will focus on the foundational, safety and reliability features of a structure. So if you decide to be an architect then it will benefit you greatly to have some understanding of civil engineering and vice versa. But it is not necessary for one person to have both degrees.
