What career field has the best financial benefits offered, besides doctor and lawyer?

There are many financially significant jobs in the workforce. I think finding the balance of what you enjoy along with what makes a good, solid wage is the key.

Some ideas:

Run your own business- Some people do very well starting up their own business. Of course, there is risk there and no guaranteed consistent salary/wage, however sometimes that risk turns into substantial reward. Think of all the people out there who have been successful running businesses they built from an idea. Could be an interesting blog, a book, music, a clothing company, a website, an app, etc. You could even lump Real Estate Agent into this category as it's also really running your own business. Maybe it's an independent makeup artist, hair stylist, etc.

Finance/Accounting- It's not for everyone but some people are very analytical and number oriented. There will likely be a shortage of Accountants in the near future. Will you get rich? Not likely, but you can make a strong consistent salary, and if you get into the corporate world, work your way up very well.

Sales- Sales is the one field that will always be around and have a need, no matter what the economy is doing, whether it's up or down. Companies will always need good salespeople. And a good salesperson can make great money(depending on industry of course). Think about software sales, medical device technology, and other high tech sales roles. Move into a Director of Sales role and watch the $ roll in.

Anything else- For myself, I enjoy working with people and making a large impact in a company. So, a role in recruiting/staffing is a great mix. At first, don't expect a ton of money, but like with anything, once you work your way up the ladder a bit, there are strong financial rewards. Additionally, you can always further your education to help move up the food chain. For example, I'll likely go back and get my Masters in HR just to improve my personal skills/knowledge and make me more impactful to my company as well as more marketable in the future. Think long term, realize that you should never stop growing, and find your balance. :-)

There are many fields that you can make a great living. A secret to sucess is to find the job you like and stay with it. Guess what? I know a guy who worked for K Mart and he stayed there for 16 years and he made almost 30 dollars an hour. I know a lady who started at Jack in the Box when she was young. Now she is store manager, and makes a very good living for her and her children. So you can make good money anywhere you go if you just stick with a job is key. You can take Dental Hygiene that is pretty good pay, so are computers engineering, there are books you can get from the library that have a list of occupations with the earnings or you can go to the department of labor stats and get a list from there of growing fields. The most important thing right now is to go into a field that you know you can get a job upon completion. In other words a high demand in the field. Secondly, the Armed Forces are a good way to go, or any criminal justice fields have many jobs in a wide array of fields. Probation officer. corrections officer are all pretty good living but not high income like a doctor. A doctor earns some ten years of schooling, and residency that is why they get paid so much being a doctor is a huge investment, If you want a two year go for criminal justice, If your looking for huge money there are no shortcuts. I have looked. Take it from me stay in school no matter how long or how difficult that it gets. The only way out of poverty is education. Good luck to you in your future.

Hi Dulce! My advise is to find a career that you love instead of focusing solely on making a substantial income. You will be happier if you are doing a job that you are passionate about instead of doing something that you hate only for the money. However, regardless of the type of job, a high salary doesn't come overnight. It requires education, dedication, personal growth, and hard work. You would also want to take into consideration the type of benefits that come with each type of job, such as insurance, 401k, gym memberships, etc. These type of benefits can take a substantial amount out of your paycheck.
