My advice to you would be to complete your program and graduate. Get a job and build reputation. Do not be in a hurry to open your own shop. It's notnas aleasy as it sounds. Save your money. You'll need capital when opening up your own shop. Build your client list. A stable recurring list of clients would go a long way when you open your own shop. Learn everything you can. When it is time in a year or two, set up your shop and you clients should follow you.

I agree with Romina's answer - def. build your clientele and network. You can also start smaller at a place like Sola Salons where you rent your own studio and can decorate how you want, set your own hours, etc... Get really good at recommending/selling products to your clients to care for their hair - you can make a lot on retail if you make sincere recommendations. Your clients are going to buy hair products somewhere, why not from you!!?? Spend a lot of time learning how to do a good shampoo and blow dry and focus on building relationships (make notes about your clients and your conversations, review them before you see them again so you have something to talk with them about). A good shampoo and blow dry goes a long way. Focus on your color services, learn the color wheel.
