I have always been interested in being a veterinarian or a teacher. Are there any jobs that incorporate both of these themes?

I am a senior in High School who is planning to follow a pre-vet track in college. #teaching #teacher #veterinarian #veterinary

Hi Andrea,

There are a couple ways you could go. I worked at the Humane Society's education department for kids and often the veterinarians would visit and do an educational program for kids. When you receive your veterinarian license, you could look for jobs at a Humane Society and be naturally incorporated into their education program, or simply volunteer in your spare time. Similarly, a lot of Veterinarian's do education if they work in a zoo. You might want to connect with your local zoo and speak with a large animal vet and talk to them about community education that they do.

You might also become a Veterinarian Science professor at the college level and instead of practicing, you would teach college and doctorate students about your discipline. Often times colleges will hire adjunct professors, or instructors who are not professors but will come in to teach a class or 2.

Hope that helps!
