Robert’s Answer

You should be asking is how much more productive can I be?
Getting the job done in a efficient and productive way is the way to go. Use the automatic tools, a bigger drill. Battery powered equipment.
Experience increases productivity. Learning those little tricks of the trade and other ways to get the job done is what every contractor is looking for. Thinking on your feet to see the final product makes things go smoother and more efficiently. Watch the guys/women that have a lot of experience.

Aaron’s Answer

There is nothing wrong with this question. In fact, more people should probably be asking it. But I would challenge you to consider asking a different question:
"How do I get more done?"

Here's the difference.

Let's say you're digging a ditch and you can dig 10 feet per hour. If you work twice as yard, you'll dig 20 feet per hour. But how about this-- what if you use a better shovel, better technique, or even use a machine to do it. Then maybe you're digging 60 feet per hour. Are you working harder? It's hard to say--running a digging machine is physically a lot 'easier' than using a shovel. But at the end of the day, regardless of if you worked harder or not, you got more done.

Figure out how to get more done and, if necessary, work harder to do it.

Aaron recommends the following next steps:

What's the end goal of what you're trying to do (the actual goal, not just the thing right in front of you)?
Is what you're doing the best way to do it, or should you be doing it completely differently?
Do all the steps make sense? Could you do any of them better/faster/easier?
What's the best FIRST step?
Go do it!
