I am glad you like fixing things with your hands.
Welding careers are attractive, numerous and you may have some tips at the AWS website.(American Welding Society)
You can go for an apprenticeship in welding or fitting. After few years working experience in the fabrication shop or site(Field), you may then advance for CWI(Certified Welding Inspector) Course. .
There is an option of branching into NDE( Non destructive examination) of welded joints. In NDE, we have UT(Ultrasonic Testing), RT(Radiographic Testing), MPI(Magnetic Particle Inspection) and DP(Dye Penetrant Testing).
Apart from the above-mentioned. You may want to go into Underwater welding. First, you have to train as a commercial diver. We also have underwater welding inspectors.
Academics; You can study Welding as a course and become a welding instructor! Or a welding consultant to many films and individual projects.
Visit https://aws.org to get more tips. Cheers!
