How many years does it take to complete a biomed/bio engineering bachelor degree?

Does the time needed to complete a degree depend mainly on the college/university you attend? Or is it a consensus?

Hello Olumachi. As Angela has brought it out rightly, it takes 4 years in general in many countries, to get a bachelor's degree in any engineering field and is not based on consensus. However, as per certain other universities, the duration for completion of bachelors in biomed can also be 3 years, for instance, University of Sheffield. Hope it helps! 😀

Jane’s Answer

Oluomachi,

biomed/bio engineering Bachelor degree, just like all other Bachelor degrees, can be done in 4 years.
However, depending on the school, degree requirements and course availability may be different, and it could take more or less time to complete a degree.

If you are willing to work hard and focus on your degree requirements, in some schools you may be able to graduate in 3.5 years or even less.
Some schools limit access to core classes required for a degree, and if you go to one of these schools, it may take you 5 years or even longer to complete.

You can ask each school you are considering how long it takes an average student to complete your desired major to get more detailed information.

best of luck to you!
Jane
