A great way to find out more about yourself is to do a strength finders assessment. It will provide you with your top five strengths and you can build on becoming a better you with that. A great one would be clifton strengths.

Hi Britney,

I assume your question is how do I know more about myself.

Actually I think this is a tough question because I don't think everyone fully understand themselves.

We learn a little bit more about ourselves from everyday life and from different incidents.
For example, you may know you don't like water activities after you try.
So my recommendation is be brave to try something new then maybe you can discover different aspect of yourself.
However, I would suggest take your time to know yourself a bit more every day.

Hi Britney,

To answer your question "how can I know more about myself", this is definitely a life-long journey that can't be done in a matter of a few days. There are so many things that make up who we are, such as our thought life, our motivations, our passions, our desires, and our fears. Often times we are so used to the routine of life without questioning why we do what we do. One of the things that you can do to better understand yourself is to pay attention to yourself, be honest with yourself and challenge your inner status quo to make sense of it. The journey of self-awareness can be difficult without some resources, so I can share that one tool that helped me achieve more self-awareness in knowing myself is the Enneagram personality test, which may be a good start in observing how our internal motivations drive our healthy or unhealthy decisions in life! However, the fact that you're already asking this question on this platform means that you're already off to a great start to self-awareness.

I hope this helps.

I am not sure about your question but try to answer. Firstly, Do you have the question how to know more about yourself? 2. Do you have question on the computer or technology related careers?
For your question, you are the best person to know yourself but sometimes we may have a different perception on ourselves. Therefore, we may need to spend some time on regular basis, e.g. 15 min daily, etc. to have some reflection on what we have done during the day. If you did something that it may not the same as you expect on yourself, you can think through it carefully why you decided to do it at that time. It is a good chance to know more about yourself.
Regarding your question on Computer/ Technology, there are plenty of careers, e.g. Developer, Computer Engineer, Database Administrator, System Administrator, Application Support, System Support, etc. I suggest you can explore more online or speak to someone who works in these careers to acquire better understanding and decide any career you are interested . Then, you can determine any college that offering the relevant subjects/courses.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Hey Britney, hopefully I am understanding your question correct. Personally, I think we are always learning more about ourselves everyday. I think we can have a great understanding of what gets us going creatively, mentally, physically and emotionally. However, I think within those realms there is also room for change. Within trying to find a specific career that you may enjoy is usually trial and error. You may have interest in something within IT, teaching, admin etc, but once you start in those fields you may notice it’s NOT really what you thought. Hopefully, I answered your question.

Jeffrey’s Answer

Hi Britney,

If you mean, "How can I know more about myself,?" I can help with that. Sometimes it can be hard for people to be honest with themselves. Pay attention to what other people say about you. That can be through written evaluations at school or at a job. You can also ask friends, teachers, family what they see as your strengths and weaknesses. Maybe they have ideas about what type of job you might be good at. Think ahead of time about questions you want to ask them and listen closely to their answers.

Also pay attention to your day dreams -- the thoughts you have that just sort of bubble at unscripted moments. Maybe you are school and you unconsciously catch yourself thinking that you would like to be more like somebody else. Ask yourself what it is you admire about that person. Maybe at another point you catch yourself having a fantasy about a place you would like to visit, or you see somebody doing a job that looks interesting. Probe those spontaneous thoughts. What is it about that job that looks interesting?

There are also books that can help you better understand yourself better. One of my favorites is the classic, "What Color is Your Parachute." This is a book about about finding an interesting career. You go through a number of structured writing exercises meant to get you thinking about what skills you have that you enjoy using. And what is important to you.

I hope this helps.

Priya’s Answer

Hi there - thanks for asking this question. I am also still learning more about myself every day. I've actually looked through some online personality assessments (e.g. MBTI) and when I am stumped about something, or act in a way that is surprising to myself, I google how do people with my personality type react to what happened. Those assessments have been pretty good for me to shed a light from a third party about what I may be feeling and why.
