Hi Eryx,
I think that the main things you need to become a good 2D animator are a solid foundation of drawing and a solid understanding of the 12 principles of animation. To that end, you can either go to school and learn about it such as a college program or an online school like animation mentor https://www.animationmentor.com/workshops/2d-animation-for-beginners/ or if that's outside of your price range you can do your own research online on the topics. For 2D animators, I would highly recommend following the work of Toniko Pantoja: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRTRqkhrehrY9hJJcLVUeRQ. He has a lot of tutorials available on youtube on the subject of 2D for free and also provides more in-depth courses for purchase: https://gumroad.com/stringbing. Good luck!
