Question for Artists: How much time did it take you to learn art before creating your first portfolio for Art/Character Design/Visual Development?
I mean, I want to understand this because sometimes it feels like my learning process is taking forever. Other times, I feel like I need to learn a few more skills before creating or showcasing a portfolio. I'm a bit confused right now, and I would be really grateful for any advice you could share.

What should I put in a 2D Animation portfolio for art school?
I am a senior in high school interested in 2D animation with ADHD and Autism but also have wrestling during the winter. I also have ideas for a story along with tons of characters involved. What type of pieces should I put in my Portfolio? Should I try making a character design sheet? Should I have a charcoal piece or do I need a story board? Or even a short comic piece? I'm planing on making an animation reel. But what are some ideas? Also what are some good procreate brushes for line art and sketching?

How can I learn more about creating art and story’s behind my art?
I want to grow to be an Artist because I’ve always been interested in the way animators create shows and how artist create drawing/painting that always had a story behind them. I want to learn more about the human anatomy so I can be better at realism and more about how animators draw in cartoony styles for short stories and funny scenes. I would also like to learn how to get better and writing stories for my characters, I can make short pieces and scenes of a story but I’m not very good at creating a actual narrative/story for them. Thank you and I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
What advice can you give about setting up a portfolio specifically tailored for the animation industry??
I want to apply for internships or entry-level jobs in animation or visual development but I'm not sure about building a portfolio or how to begin.
Is it possible for a 10-year-old to write a show?
Hello! I'm 13, going on 14, and my little sibling (any pronouns) is 10. They're very ambitious and determined to write an indie animated show. In fact, he's already written a seven-minute script for the pilot episode, all in a proper screenwriting format. She's obviously determined to do this and is willing to take up as much work as possible to make it happen. Since they're only ten, I'm here to help them write and direct it. I'm old enough to use casting websites to help him get people to work on it. I'm just a little worried that they might be shooting a little too high too early. I've told them to do a lot of thinking and planning before deciding to make a series at this age, they have, and their answer is yes. Should I ask her to wait until she's a little older and more certain she can finish this project or should I help him to achieve it now? He's already doing directing, writing, and some art and possibly the music, so we just need a few more people.
What do I do if I find myself wanting to pursue many (creative) careers?
I want to pursue acting/voice acting, writing, art/animation, and filmmaking. I hear that acting is a very time-consuming job that requires a lot of commitment, but I also want to do writing and filmmaking, so what do I do about that? Is it possible to juggle all of these careers at the same time? I have a passion for all of them so I can't imagine having to give them up for one choice.
Can an autistic artist become an animator while also being a zoologist?
Hello, I am interested in becoming an animator in the animation industry as an autism advocate. However, with the rise of layoffs, AI, alongside other problems in the industry, I am trying to find a backup plan to have in case I am not able to make into the industry. I am thinking of becoming a zoologist but being an autistic person who is afraid of getting hurt, I am unsure if I want to become one or not. (For those who are in zoology or are zoologists, geologists, etc.) Is it possible for someone to become a zoologist while educating those with autism in the animation industry? Can a zoologist be a backup plan in case things go awry? What majors should I take to learn on how to become one?
What is the best major if I am interested in animation and gaming?
I have been doing a lot of research on both the animation industry and gaming industry and I am intrigued by the technical aspects such as developing and designing. What would be the best decision on a college major, especially with AI on the uprising. Much appreciated.
