Yes it can be, especially in the beginning. For the most part you would be responsible for the end to end process, of course this also depends on the size of the restaurant. The larger the venture, the more work you would need to put into it. With that being said, running your own business has it's benefits. You make you own hours and may enjoy a better work/life balance.

Yes it is but owning your own business can be very enjoyable and rewarding once you have got over the hump. Most restaurants go under within the first few years. In the beginning, you really need to spend each day there making sure that every thing is being done correctly by you and the employees. You only get one chance to make a great first impression on your guests so cannot afford to do it incorrectly. Be optimistic and upbeat. People love working for people with those traits and they also like giving them business.
