Linda’s Answer

Hello Brandon, time management skills are the cornerstone of most productive individuals. A few valuable skills, which these individuals poses are:

Planning: Ensure to prioritize the most import task
Decision Making: how should I spend my valuable time
Delegating: find the right people to complete and delivery the task
Follow-up: Ensure individuals are on track to completing the project; offer constructive feedback when needed

Regarding how many consecutive hours are worked in a day, this will vary based on need. As you complete several projects, you will begin to recognize how to efficiently allocate your time. Please review the valuable feedback offered by Michael as he discuses union restrictions.

Ira’s Answer

Hi Brandon! Hope you are well. Time management is a life-long skill one needs to continue to hone. Legally, there are specific requirements for health and safety that an individual and his employer will need to comply to with regards to the amount of time that individual can work. Apart from that, there is also the consideration for work-life balance. To be able to adhere to these, my suggestion is to prioritise the tasks for the day, week and month. Ensure that you are attending to important and urgent activities with high priority. I would suggest reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Franklin Covey to support your time management skill development. All the best

Brendon’s Answer

Hi Brandon,

The longest amount of time I have worked non-stop in a day was 12 hours. To become good with time management takes practice.

You need to get a good feel for your day-to-day tasks before you decide how to get stuff done in the fastest way possible. For tasks that are not routine, you should adopt the right mindset to get the task(s) done in the most efficient way possible without getting distracted.

Eventually, you will come to enjoy it, when you see the benefits and may even use it in your personal life as I have.

I speak from experience and wish you the best of luck with your search for a fitting career!

P.s. Time is the most valuable resource we have.
