Hi Jason,
In addition to what Jeff mentioned, look for opportunities to explore areas of interest be reading about what people do in certain roles and in certain industries. If possible do what you can to confirm interest before making a significant investment in a college major or in a trade. At your age, doing well at school, getting involved in activities or sports will help you decide what you should do after high school.
Also, if you know someone that is in a job that is of interest, ask that person if they could spend some time to educate you further on what they do and to answer your questions.
Wishing you all the best!
Bob

Hi Jason.
I completely agree with Michael's response above. I would like to add though, that you are still very young and are yet to experience so much in life. Some people don't find the ideal job until late in their lives. Life seems to take its own path there will be bumps in the road that will change your direction, but you can ABSOLUTELY influence the path that you take. Be willing to take a risk, just make it smart (use your smarts and try to learn as much as you can about said risk). Keep telling yourself that it is ok to be uncomfortable. It takes many failures to get to success and sometimes happiness. While staying uncomfortable can be really hard to do as we all tend to drive towards comfort, but that's the point. When you stay uncomfortable you are pretty much forced to grow with yourself, forced to learn, forced to adapt, and you end up better in the end from the experience.
Again, you are still quite young. You likely wont find your dream job on the first go, and that is okay! Focus on the goals you have in front of you (completing school, getting a car, spending time with a partner, enjoying life, and so on). When you figure out what you want in life, working to get to that can help you make a better decision on what work you need to do.
There are a ton of opportunities out there, too. Don't think that you are stuck and definitely don't put yourself into a financial situation where you do get stuck, working to pay off debts. Material things will come and go EVERY day. Your experiences will be with you forever, make new experiences often and something will stick.
Good luck, Jason. You will find the right path for you. Be patient, explore options, take smart risks, be uncomfortable and get some experiences in the world.

It may take some self discoveries before you realize your passion and capabilities.
Letting others know your interests would be a good start too.
List and rank your interests, select 1 to start off with and surround yourself with it.
Surround yourself with people with the same interest, think of projects that would be a win/win for all parties, envision it and create a project. You could potentially find others who share the same passion to exchange thoughts on the topic. The more you converse, research and question your topic of interest, could lead you to discover what you may want to do in the future. Or maybe it will make you realize it is not something for you.
