Based on my work experience these years, firstly, it's better to have related education degree. Secondly, opportunities are highly depending on your work experience, to increase your job experience in this field. And the last suggestion, it's good to list your achievements for industrial engineer on your resume.
Hi Rani! Thanks for these insights. Can you include some details for the student about how many jobs are available in this field?

Engineering is traditionally very competitive, but your job opportunities will vary depending on your experience, where you live and the specific industry you are targeting. Consider reading job forecasts from the department of labor to help you understand your options. Their job outlook states that employment of industrial engineers is projected to grow 14 percent from 2020 to 2030, faster than the average for all occupations. Sounds like an opportunity to me!

True industrial design jobs are highly competitive, and are more common on the east and west coasts. If this is a career path you intend to pursue, be prepared to put in a lot of work and be flexible with where you live.
