Do you expect hiring for this job in the region to increase, decrease, or stay the same over the next few years?

I am currently in distance learning for job corps and I'd appreciate it if someone would respond to my question.

In any region of the USA you will see a huge demand for welders and professionals in the welding industry (shop foremen, production managers, welding inspectors, quality managers, etc).

I wish I had obtained my CWI earlier and transitioned into the quality aspect of the welding industry earlier.

I am now in demand as a Welding Quality Consultant at a near 6 figure yearly income.

Go to a good 3 month welding school, get about 5 years experience in structural and machinery fabrication, then obtain your AWS - Certified Welding Inspector cert and the sky's the limit...

Francisco, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the country as a whole this is what they say on their website:
"Employment of welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers is projected to grow 8 percent from 2020 to 2030, about as fast as the average for all occupations. About 49,200 openings for welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers are projected each year, on average, over the decade." Sep 8, 2021

Here is state-specific info:
https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes514121.htm#st

which looks to me like Texas is a strong employment opportunity state for welders.

This is a good website to use to check out lots of different careers. It looks like you've made a good choice!
