To answer your first question, there are great websites you can google to find out how much generally dietitians are making depending on their location. Glassdoor salaries is one example or check out https://www.salary.com/tools/salary-calculator/dietitian-sr. You can determine your maximum amount in this industry which is also dependent on a number of factors. You can make a 6 figure salary if not more!
To answer your second question: There are a number of positions for dietitians now and I assume many more to come. As long as there is 1. stress and people resorting to fast food and more so overdoing it for comfort, 2. the use of devices taking up our personal and professional time and less time on movement and 3. emphasis on taking care of everything and everybody else other than ourselves, there will continue to be a need for dietitians. We will need to help educate people on the importance of making healthier food and lifestyle choices to prevent and treat chronic illness as an outcome of those unbecoming habits/behaviors they've established. In addition, more and more people are interested in natural ways to become healthy/healthier without the use of drugs/medications as many times they come with undesirable side effects. And that's where we come in! I hope that helps answer your question Audrey. :)

Hi Audrey:
Dietitians and Nutritionists are experts in the use of food and nutrition to promote health and manage disease. They plan and conduct food service or nutritional programs to help people lead healthy lives.
■ OUTLOOK
Employment of dietitians and nutritionists is projected to grow 11 percent from 2020 to 2030, faster than the average for all occupations. About 5,900 openings for dietitians and nutritionists are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire.
■ EMPLOYMENT
Interest in the role of food and nutrition in promoting wellness and preventive care, particularly in medical settings, continues to increase. The importance of diet in preventing and controlling certain illnesses, such as diabetes and heart disease, is well established. More dietitians and nutritionists will be needed to provide care for people who have, or are at risk of developing, these conditions.
Moreover, as the population ages and looks for ways to stay healthy, there will be more demand for dietetic and nutrition services.
I hope this was helpful. Best of luck to you!

Hello,
To answer your question about salary...
Registered Dietitians can make about $30-35 per hour for remote, contract and part-time jobs. With about 3-5 years of work experience you can make more $45 per hour).
Full-time RD's usually start out entry level in some type of in-patient clinical job. They make about $50,000 per year with potential to grow depending on the job up to $90,000 with a Master's degree and significant experience.
I have been searching recently and seeing those salary ranges on Glassdoor, Indeed and other such sites.
To be honest, the salaries were the same about 10 years ago. There has not been enough growth in the salary expectations for this sphere in my opinion.
If had to choose my career again, I would have chosen to be an engineer (civil), since I was skilled in math and science. The salaries are much better in almost any engineering job.
Life is not only about money, but if you have options it is good to weigh them.

Googling "job outlook dietitian" I see the job outlook is better than average. I imagine this is due to the aging US population as well as rising rates of obesity and diabetes. That said, I wonder how the job will be impacted by improving computer systems and AI which could give customized advice with fewer live humans performing the job...
My mom worked as a dietitian in a hospital setting. I imagine there are also positions in nursing care facilities.
