Would getting an internship in a career you don't entirely plan on following beneficial in the long run?
Work experience is very important in getting a job, but when you have very little work experience in the field you want to pursue, would internships in other fields be helpful in different fields? How separate should the difference be between the fields to be considered applicable #internship #future #multiple-interests

Hi Teal,
I think I have spoke with you about animal training. I know for sure they have openings at some places to help with animals. Like a petco if you are thinking of sticking with that career path. Petsmart will give you good experience plus pay. Or do volunteering at petco to they have volunteers come in there for cats. In some stores. Or at the humane society. However, if you are planning an internship in a program that you do not intend on being a part of, I would say you are wasting time on what your true goals are. Be true to your self. Even with little or no experience you can look around for what you really want to do and I bet you can find something. Even get pay for your efforts.

I´m sure you can find something else that is related with your study field.

I believe that all work experience is valuable! Any job can help you develop soft skills that would be applicable in other fields. For instance, you can strengthen your communication, time-management, teamwork, and other skills that would be beneficial in the future. If you can find a job or internship that is somewhat related to the field you want to pursue, that can strengthen your chances of landing your dream job or internship in the future!
