Marcos’s Answer

It all depends on the project. I have family members and friends that work on this and I can tell you that it depends on the location, type of work, and the timeline of the project.

For example, if you are doing masonry for the city due to an emergency task, you will work on it until completion since you have a very tight timeline.

If you are working on Masonry, many times there can also be noise ordinances, they have those here in Chicago. This means that you can't make loud noises or start your work (depending on the City and or Building rules) and therefore your schedule may be have to be tweaked in order to meet these requirements.

Overall, working in masonry is a job that many like to start early in the day in the event that something happens, they are prepared and have ample time to address the issue.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!

Yumi’s Answer

Hi Miguel,

I think it depends on the scale of the work. If you are talking about residential masonry, small project may only take a half day (4 hrs or so) - that's what a masonry company spent on a project that I had. If project is fairy large (even for residential), masonry work takes time. I think people usually come early in the morning, say 7 or 8 and work until 4 or so. For a commercial project (which is usually large), I think they work a similar hours (7-4 / 8-4).
