Hi Jinnelle,
There are a number of careers you can pursue to make money in writing. Some that come to mind are Technical Writings for Grants and government or state contracts, content writer for social media, public relations, speechwriters, proposal writers, and any other field requiring communications.
Right now I'm sure there is a need for communications and content marketing on social media.

Hi Jinnelle -- All of the above are great points. I can't improve on them at all but will simply add one more area for consideration: marketing communications, aka MARCOM. It's a great area to work in either within a company or an advertising agency that has corporate clients. For example, you could work in creative development for marketing campaigns where you're drafting copy for promotional emails, direct mail, display ads, a website or marketing landing page (MLP) etc. Good copy writers are in high demand because companies need to obtain new customer and keep their current ones. Solid communication - speaking succinctly, clearly and naturally to prospects and existing customers is really a must-have for all companies.
Whichever field you decide initially, know that as a good writer, you can always pivot to other areas. Happy exploring and good luck!

The best way is to get a degree in technical/proposal writing and go to work for a corporation.
