I think the answer to your question is “it depends”. Are the two majors complementary to each other? If so I recommend you consider taking one as a minor. Are they completely different and do not build on each other? I’d be very careful if this is the case, as I suspect your course load could be almost double and either burn you out or extend the number of years you are in school.

I agree with Judi's answer - it does depend! I have two degrees, one a BA with a sociology major, and a law degree. For my first degree, I changed my major from economics to sociology early on, after realising that it wasn't what I thought it would be, but I still kept some other papers from various areas to learn more and expand my horizons.
I would also agree that doubling your load isn't always a great thing - especially if you are using a student loan. I often wish I had stopped my first degree once I realised I wanted to pursue law (thought the knowledge was still relevant), as my time at university was longer than it might have been. Try to weigh the costs and benefits in terms of the knowledge you will gain, and how it might factor into employment paths, as well as the cost to you financially and in terms of time lost pursuing other life activities!
It can definitely be hard making these choices, when you might not yet have all the details, but rarely is anything locked in stone, and you can flex if you need to.
