New York (city), L.A., Seattle, Nashville are the best places I am aware of. Those are pretty much hubs of where records companies and the music business is. Canada has a couple of places as well, Montreal is one I can think of.

If you are talking about conservatory type things or teaching (college), than you have more choices.

I know you want to teach music in Alabama and thats fantastic, if you can do it, do it. I know you want to know where the best place to teach music is and I would argue that you can teach music wherever you want. However, you should ask ask yourself a some questions:

Why Alabama? Why do I want to move to a certain location? Do I like the culture of the state, city, town, etc? Is it a good fit for me?
Can I afford to move there?
What does a salary of a music teacher in Alabama or some other place look like (you can easily google this :) )
Do I meet the job requirements?
Are there a lot of music teacher positions open?

At the end the day do what your passionate about, but make sure you do you your research and make sure your dream doesn't break the bank.

Let me know if you have any other questions! Good luck and I wish you all the best! :)
