Glenn’s Answer

I think in many ways it's like other professions...the first few years are spent in developing skills (not the easiest), next few are maturing one's ability to listen, research, create and sell, then eventually teaching younger folks the same methods. The biggest difficulty for recent graduates that I've seen is the confusion between art (doing what inspires you) and design (using art to inspire others). So, the ability to use one's artistic ability, but go through the necessary additional steps of listening, collaboration, and salesmanship make it just as hard or harder than many other professions. You have to either love, or learn to love, working with and for others.

No, it isn't, at least not usually. But if you enjoy doing it, easy doesn't matter.
