Hello Aakhash! There are a variety of other opportunities on or near campus that you can take advantage of other than stores or restaurants such as working in research, tutoring, doing office work, or working for different start-ups. Reach out to professors and advisers for research opportunities in areas that interest you. Make sure to look at your school's job board and do not be afraid to try something new. I personally got a job as a business consultant for start-ups at my University through the school job board. I was also a tutor in a variety of subjects by reaching out to students through a school tutoring website. I knew many other students who had jobs in a variety of offices at the University related to their interests.

I made the most money in college when I was a server at a restaurant. It was also a great learning experience. Don't forget about paid internships! Again, not only will you be making money but you'll be gaining invaluable work experience that your resume will thank you for.

Hi - there are several alternative ways to earn money during college. Most/all colleges have a student employment office that will help you locate work and the type of work ranges across many different things. Some examples are working in the library, working in the financial aid office, doing work for a professor who may have a specific need for his/her class, and the list goes on. Until you are a student enrolled at a college you will not be able to see all of the opportunities that are available, but you may be able to research and confirm if the colleges you are looking at definitely have a student employment office. If you qualify for the Federal Work Study Program, they will let you know when they give you your financial aid award information - these students get priority with certain jobs like working in the library.
