Marley’s Answer

Immerse yourself as much as possible. Listen to english songs, watch movies in english, listen to the way people speak in public. English is my second language and I learned best through immersion. I also wrote words down in a notebook I carried around with me everywhere. The key is to not pay attention to the grammar, spelling, or even meaning of the word. Just write it down. It doesn't have to be perfect, because you can always Google it later.

Sofia’s Answer

Hi Marley’s

I think one easy way to memorize words is by searching their meaning in English. Sometimes people don’t know a word and automatically try to translate it. Each language has their own words, with meanings and cultural things, so we should search the meaning in English first and try to understand

Another tip is through visualization. There’s a lot of accounts in tilo tok right know that explains the words with images. I like this one for example:

It’s easier to get the meaning when we see it 😉

Hope it helps you

Fernando’s Answer

Practice by incorporating those words that give you trouble into various types of sentences or writing formats. If you're a story writer find ways of using said words in either dialogue, as a means of describing the environment or any action that's taking place. By consistently applying it in writing you start developing a mental muscle memory. After a certain point the use of those troublesome words will become second nature.

Ma. Edgie’s Answer

Hi Sid,

Whenever you learn new words that you loved but you think you might probably forgot it, you may write it in a small notebook. Like , have a small notebook maybe where you can write those words so it would be easier for you to find it or read it whenever you have free time, so that it will be easier for you to remember it and maybe you'll never know, you might use it when you are speaking or writing something too. I hope this helps you.

All the best! be safe!

Marta’s Answer

Hi Sid!
One thing that helped me greatly in learning english spelling was joining a few forums connected to my hobbies and writing to people online. I also installed a spell checker to catch most of my mistakes and asked people that I was talking to to correct me if I made any mistakes. That was, I was able to learn putting in minimal effort, just by chatting with friends that I made online. I highly recommend doing that!

Another thing you could do is take Latin in HS, it will help you understand the origin of words and thus help you break down words and understand how the parts content, which in return will not only help you learn the spelling but also the meaning of the word.
