As easy as it may seem, playing the drums is not that easy. While moving both of your arms and legs at different times, it takes a lot of time to learn basic beats. Once you get used to this adjustment, it will get easier and easier to try new and more complex drum beats.

Drumming, IMO, is easy to learn but VERY hard to master. Anyone who can count steadily to 4 can do the basics of drumming, however the real skill comes in knowing where you are in the music, playing with people, improvising if something goes wrong, and following the rest of the band for transitions like crash cymbals or fills. Sorry if this isn't the best answer, I too am still learning when it comes to drums and mainly use MIDI (I know kinda cheating) to put drums in my music.

Remember that playing a drum kit requires you to understand that you are basically making noise with two arms and two legs often at the same time and within a set musical beat...
Take lessons to learn properly...it's agonizingly boring at first but if you don't get the basics down you will never be playing correctly!
