Well one thing about healthcare/nursing is things change ALL OF THE TIME!! So if I tell you today some things to look out for it could be entirely different when you start working! One very important thing you must have to work in health care is the ability to change!! Also, and this is important, when you go through any kind of orientation don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand it. So, if you don't know how to use the BP cuff or don't understand how to trouble shoot it ASK. Equipment you might use again varies where you work but basic would be the "dyna-map" which has all the basics for taking vital signs- Blood pressure, pulse ox, pulse and temperature. Will learn how to use machine to check blood glucose. But trust me, you will be taught how to use all of this! Good luck!

LVN/ LPN's use several tools to provide patient care such as blood pressure machines, pulse oximetry, thermometers, glucometer and stethoscopes. These are a few of the basic equipment tools all LVN/LPN's should be know. Hope this helps :)

Blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, thermometer, pulse ox, glucometer, watch, computer for charting. It is extremely important to know how to take a manual blood pressure. Never just rely on the machine.
