Hi Maha,

Enrol yourself in some Graphic Designer course as I can see you are a B.com student.

As a Graphic Designer, you need to learn Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Adobe Indesign and so on.

Learn and start designing!

You can even display your work on Behance. Keep your work on it so that companies can view it and access how good you are with Graphic Designing.

Also, once you learn side by side you can work as a Freelancer. Create your account on:
- Freelancer.com
- Upwork

You can show your Behance profile in the description of your profile so that you stand apart from other candidates.

I hope it helps!

*Remark: Don't forget to participate in your college when they are in need of a designer to design anything for the event. Because that's how you will learn.

All the best!

Craig’s Answer

Although I am not a graphic designer, one of my first internships I sought out the opportunity to do this as an above and beyond project while at General Electric working as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern due to interest and leveraging the internship to further narrow down my interests in what I wanted to do. I had a lot of Computer Aided Design experience, but quick realized a graphic design software program would be quicker to address the ask at hand (design of a logo). I chose Adobe Photoshop and self taught myself plus asked a lot of folks in the marketing department at the time for ideas and help. Almost 30 years later I still use Photoshop for a my work presentations, and even personal projects too and never worked as a formal graphic designer, but the skill is one that I use regularly and helps exercise my artistic abilities both at work and as a hobby.

Reason I share this story is pursuing your interests is a great way to determine what you truly enjoy. While in school I would also ask your professor and/or advisor for ideas, projects or possibly help they may need where you can learn and practice this skill, gain experience and see if you truly enjoy.

You wont get a Yes, if you never ask and never to early to start to learn a new skill so you can understand if something you truly want to pursue. Also internships are an excellent way to learn what a 'job' may entail in a specific field and I encourage students to pursue as many different internships they can since it helps narrow down career choices and interests.

Sumaiya’s Answer

Graphic design is a skill-focused journey. It's a course that guides you through the creative process of expressing ideas and experiences using visual and textual elements.

You might consider starting with an online course during your undergraduate studies. Don't worry, you don't need any prior knowledge to begin. After that, you can further sharpen your abilities by pursuing a Graphic Design course at the postgraduate level. This will truly elevate your skills and open up a world of possibilities.
