Hi Bryan,
If you have an affinity for technology and love logical thinking, you might have considered a career in IT development.
A career in information technology can take on many different forms:
. Create software programs or be involved in creating the digital infrastructure for a company
. Work as consultants and do projects for a variety of different organizations
Today’s many developers specialize in a specific area (e.g. finance, marketing, HR, Law,...). Every industry is in some way affected by technology, and companies large and small need knowledgeable tech developers to help them build and maintain a useful infrastructure. Additionally, as technology grows and expands, each industry needs new software to help them keep up with a changing marketplace.
It's important to clearly identify your tech career objectives and develop a learning plan with the necessary skills, computer training, and IT certifications to build a competitive edge and achieve your goals.
Wish you all the best

A career in IT Development is like the Red Queen's Race: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Queen%27s_race
"Well, in our country," said Alice, still panting a little, "you'd generally get to somewhere else—if you run very fast for a long time, as we've been doing."
"A slow sort of country!" said the Queen. "Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!"
(Lewis Carroll: Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, Chapter 2)
If you're the sort of person who claims expertise based on having read a tutorial last week, and you can *GET AWAY WITH IT* because you're just that good, then a career in IT Development may be the perfect career for you.

my answer may be a slightly different from the others. in my mind, IT does not like heavy development unless force to. IT is more about cost beneficial ratio than next frontier, so if you want to learn lots of technology, building glues to meet the company need, then that is the place for you. If you want to gain deeper level of a given technology, then R&D environment are more suitable. It is really based on your interest and tendency.
