What I suggest is looking within your local economic commerce office and or at the State level under small business grants. Many city and county government have money to loan, some you don’t have to pay back, to start a business. There is also grants.gov or The national science foundation if you are attempting to invent something. I would definitely start with your local economic development entities in the city of the local chamber of commerce to help you get started.

I am glad to hear that you would like to start up your own business. Have you identify what industry you would start your business? There are different ways to fund your project.
I suggest the approach below :
1. Identify the industries you would like to start your business
2. Analyze the industry, e.g. market status, competition in the market, any entry barrier, any substitutes, etc. Confirm there is potential to start the business in the particular industry
3. At the same time, take the relevant course in the college to acquire sufficient knowledge and understanding
4. Explore any intern opportunities to work in the industry. You can take the opportunity to understand the business model and establish network in the industry.
5. Startup a small scale business online.
6. You can then look for funding from Venture Fund, Crowd Funding Online, funding from your friends & relatives, etc. However, you would need to prepare the proposal to present when raising funds. The proposal would include your market analysis (point 2 above), your plan, target return, etc.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Thank you Rebecca, that last suggestion is a pretty good start for me, I'm trying to get myself into the nesh market of space so things like banks and government programs or finding companies to buy me out is the real only way to get started off good. After your suggestion about doing a market analysis, well it's really getting me thinking about planning out some proposals, so Thank you.
