Do I need a research mentor if I plan on conducting secondary research?
Hello! My name is Sanvhi and I am a rising junior. This summer and in the following months, I plan on conducting secondary research on the connection between architecture and domestic violence in India, exploring how spaces can impact the increase or decrease in violence taking place. To be honest, I am not completely sure how having a mentor works. In my research about it, I learned that I would assist them with their findings, and others different stories. I have heard that it is best to have a mentor for research, but since my research is not something I believe I can do with primary data I have gathered, I am not sure if I need one. If I did have one, I honestly am not sure what we would be able to discuss, or how they would be able to help me. Please let me know what you think. Thank you!
What school or major do I choose???
I want to pursue a career in sports events: I’m very interested in the creative event planning and decorating, and partnership side of sports, like sponsorship activations, fan experiences, VIP events, and brand collaborations with teams or leagues. But I'm not sure what major or college would be the perfect fit for me. I've heard most people who major in sports don't end up landing a sports job, so it definitely worries me, but I'm also worried that if I don't major in sports, I won't know as much as others. I specifically want to go down south for college, as a NJ resident, I'm tired of this area and the weather.
What is the most important thing to do freshman year of college? Should I focus more on academics and do everything to have a 4.0 GPA, or be more leaned back and put more effort into meeting new people? #Spring26
I am a senior in high school and doing well in school comes pretty easy to me. I normally don't study for tests too long, but still get A's and high B's. What do you learn in college when you study business Administration?
Can someone give me some tips for business administration and how many years do I need to study this?
Is studying MIS with a Cybersecurity concentration a smart, future-proof choice with AI advancing so quickly ?
I’m considering majoring in Management Information Systems (MIS) with a concentration in Cybersecurity. With how quickly AI is advancing, I want to think carefully about whether this path will still be strong and relevant in the future. For those working in related roles, what does your typical day actually involve? Is most of your time spent in meetings and strategy, doing technical hands-on tasks, or monitoring systems and security tools? I’m also curious about how AI might affect the role of someone who connects the business side and the security/technical side. Will companies still rely on people in that “bridge” role, or will AI start taking over more of those responsibilities? Also, for those who studied MIS with a cybersecurity focus (or something similar), how intense is the workload when balancing business management classes with technical security labs? Is it stressful or manageable with good organization? I want to choose a major that has a strong long term career outlook but also one that matches the kind of work style I’d actually enjoy. I’d really appreciate hearing about real experiences or advice from people in the field.

Where do I begin? Am I on the right path?
Hello, I am a senior in school who is also working towards an associate in science degree at my local community college. I currently play basketball for my high school, and I am open to playing in the future. While I am in school, I am working towards getting my law degree and one day be able to help people who are in need of law services, and they do not want to go thru legal aid or cannot go thru legal aid. Here recently I have been looking into going into sports management. Having a background in sports, and wanting to go into law, I was thinking about going into sports management right along the same lines as Jalen Hurts management team. My question is, do you think by continuing with my law degree, after completing it would be an easy transition to sports management? In reading if it would be a difficult transition, I found that they are intertwined with each other because sports law is a collection of legal disciplines like contracts, labor, and intellectual property law. Going down the path I have chosen, would it be a difficult transition to go from attorney/ lawyer to having a sports management team?

Should I get a M.S in Airline Management?
Currently, I’m a senior in college, pursuing a B.A. in International Relations. I’m contemplating a career change and am interested in aviation. I’m exploring graduate programs and am particularly drawn to an M.S./M.B.A. in Aviation Management. However, I’m hesitant because my current B.A. doesn’t directly align with the M.S./M.B.A. in Aviation. I considered obtaining a B.S./B.A. in Aviation, but I’m concerned that it might be a waste of time. I’d greatly appreciate any opinions, recommendations, or advice you can provide. Thank you.

How realistic is it to pursue a job in theatre management and what steps should I take to do this?
I am currently a freshman in college, and I am realizing that my passions lie in the theatre world, but more so in the management side. I would love to pursue a career in theatre management whether that be a project manager for a theatre or shooting for the stars to be the artistic director of a theatre. However, I'm not sure if this is a feasible goal, or if I should be more realistic and stick to my current plan of being an English & Creative Writing: Publishing major and pursue a career in publishing. I am also curious what I should major in if I do decide to switch majors and remove my English & Creative Writing: Publishing major. I currently attend the University of Iowa, and they do have a good Business school, but I also know that Iowa is known for their Writing programs and not necessarily their Business or Theatre programs. I definitely know that whatever I do, I am keeping Theatre Arts as a second major because I have a lot of college credits from high school that allow me to do so. Should I let theatre just be my "fun thing," or can I turn this passion into a realistic career? How would I get a job after college with a reasonable salary I can sustain myself off of? How difficult is it to actually pursue a theatre management career? How long will it take for me to climb my way up to a well-paying job? Basically, my biggest question is, is it worth it/realistic?
How do I get people to help me with my nonprofit?
I recently started a global youth-led nonprofit called Project Pulse, (@theogprojectpulse on TikTok and Instagram), which focuses on helping underserved communities across the globe gain access to healthcare by connecting them with licensed medical professionals. Right now, I’m facing a challenge: I don’t have medical professionals willing to partner with us. Beyond cold emailing (which often doesn’t get responses), what are effective strategies I could use to connect with doctors or healthcare providers who might want to get involved? Also, if you know of any medical professionals who may be open to volunteering their expertise, or if you’d like to help me grow this organization in other ways, I’d love your advice and support!
