#marine-biology
I live in Ohio and want to become a marine biologist. Which classes should I take (or focus on) in high school? Which is the best college for me to go to? Lastly, what programs can I do to get me experience before college?

Hi Vish, I would focus heavily on science and math classes while in high school. I would take any biology, precalculus, physics, chemistry and any other science course that your high school offers. Check with your science teachers or guidance counselors to see if there are any programs in your area that they recommend you join. If you have an aquarium, zoo, or other wildlife center nearby, I would reach out to them and see if they offer any volunteer or job shadowing opportunities.
Here is a list of "best Marine Biology programs" from CollegeChoice.net - https://www.collegechoice.net/sciences/marine-biology/best-bachelors-degrees/. However, don't get too caught up in college rankings. Most employers are not going to care too much about what college you attended. When trying to choose a college, try to find one that "fits" with you, your goals and what you're looking for from the college experience best. Visit as many colleges as you can before making a decision. Of course, the quality of education is important, but the quality of education you get is not going to vary too wildly from one college to another. It is better to find somewhere that fits with you best than to just decide solely based on rankings on a website.
