Is the music education field in demand? Or are music teachers are on the low extreme?

I'm a highschool student wishing to go into music education as my 1st teachable. I want to know what my stakes are in the near future of education. #education #music

Unfortunately Education as a whole tends to be underfunded and unappreciated. The arts education like music is even harder. My undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education and I was offered a position as an Art teacher at one point but it was not quite full time and the pay was not enough to support myself on. Education is a noble career and we desperately need teachers who love what they do so I don't want to discourage you entirely but it is a difficult profession at this time. If you are willing to move to places in Canada or the US where the need is higher you may be able to find a suitable job. Really look into what's out there and available before you start down that path. Also consider that potentially other areas of similar study such as music therapy might have more options. Best of luck to you!
