My name is Blake and I am a sophomore in high school. I like the outdoors and being adventurous. I live in Minnesota as well. #college #engineering #job #engineer #high-school

I will not answer this question by giving a list of schools. You can research that yourself. But here are a few factors to consider so you can decide for yourself.
Engineering is a challenging field of study. Choose a college that provides the most likely environment where you will complete your studies and and succeed in graduating.
Should you commute or be close to home for support? Or away for better focus?
Can you afford the tuition? It's difficult to work and attend engineering school which requires your full attention. Student loans are expensive and can be out of proportion to your future salary and become a burden. Take the loans if necessary, but not beyond what you can pay off. Check with school about the salaries of their graduates to decide about how much to borrow.
A good choice could be a school with the biggest scholarship package if it meets the other criteria.
Does the school provide technical internships? Is the school in a location where your important summer technical internships would be reachable? Internships lead to jobs. My internship turned into a successful 39 year engineering career.
It's always impressive if you can say you graduated from one of the top schools, but its more important that you graduate. No one cares much where you graduated from after a few years of a real career.
Good engineers from any school can have a good career and lifestyle.

There's a lot of different factors to consider when choosing a college to go to, price of tuition, the campus itself, the quality of the program, among others. For looking at quality of the program, make sure you look at how those ratings are calculated, many of them factor in research completed by professors at the program which might not be what you value, or prestige of the name of the university.
It's important to consider your financial situation and your families financial situation as well, a prestigious university isn't always worth it, especially if you are saddled with a large amount of debt upon graduating. For being outdoorsy, it's important to consider the location of the campus and outdoor activities offered, visiting campuses will probably give you the best information on this and seems like it would be valuable for you if possible.
