Hello Genesis,

The cost varies depending on which school you go to. Some schools are simply more costly than others and therefore you will have to pay more in tuition. You will also have to take into account living expenses such as how much does it cost to rent an apartment if you won't be living at home, and if that's the case, you will have to take into account electricity bills, water bills, food, etc. However, in order to help you, you can take loans to help pay for some of those costs while you get your degree.

Now, consider going in-state or out-of-state (if you're living in the US) for college. Paying out of state tuition is a lot more costly than paying in-state. If you have a college in mind that you want to go to, you can contact their admissions office via email or phone and I'm sure they can give you more specific details in terms of tuition costs. In the meantime, I advise you start creating a budget for yourself to learn how much you spend on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis and start planning accordingly to save money. Using software like Excel helps me a lot to manage my own money and finances.

After college, to become a Veterinarian, you will have to go to Veterinary school to become a Veterinary Doctor. This, of course, will also take some research on, which school best fits you and you will also have to take into account tuition costs and living expenses as well.

Current costs (tuition plus books/fees/living expenses) range from 125,000-375,000 for 4 years of vet school. This is AFTER completing a 4 year undergraduate degree. You can find many websites with current tuition information. Try www.avma.org
