The best solution for me that worked was to plan a schedule for around 60% - 70% of available time. 40%-30% was left for unpredicted actions/problems. Have a schedule but simply have some windows open.

In the working days, I would prefer to have planned schedule. There are routine tasks , meetings and phone calls. My schedule is open on weekends indeed.
Time management is really important for my daily life. I would use Microsoft Outlook to manage daily schedule. You can consider to use other time management tools, e.g. Calendar in your phone, Google Calendar, etc.
Below is the approach I usually take:
1. Put in the major activities schedule, e.g. major meetings, calls, etc.
2. I will assign some time for my projects, tasks, etc. I need to complete
3. I would put in the time for exercise, rest, etc.
4. The most important is I will keep some time slot to relax and leisure as well.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I work as a Key Account Manager for a wine and spirits distributor. I find that having a hybrid schedule works best for my line of work. I use Outlook to allot time for my planned meetings, projects, appointments, etc. The rest of my calendar is open for variable activities each day - for example, fire drills, leftover administrative work, additional appointments, etc. I also schedule personal appointments such as doctor visits or time for the gym if applicable in the same calendar.
That being said, my day-to-day varies as well, but I like to keep a general pattern: Mondays I usually have Zoom calls in the morning then tackle pre-planning my week and administrative work in the afternoon. Occasionally I will have a few appointments in market. Tuesday through Thursday I plan on being in market for the majority of my day with various meetings, business lunches, events, activations, sales call pop-ins, and the like taking place. Friday mornings I usually have a few more Zoom calls and then spend the afternoon wrapping up administrative work as well as working in the market. My role depends on when my account buyers are available to meet, so some days I work the market from noon to 6 or 8pm and others I may be in market from 9am to 4 or 5pm. I live on my phone and during business hours I am constantly checking emails, texts, and phone calls regardless of where I am. This habit does spill over into personal time frequently.
Weekends are definitely for family and relaxation, although with my job sometimes there is some fun crossover.
I hope this helps!

Hi Artinity!
Hi,
I am at the moment working as a IT/Accounting Senior Associate for PWC . Typical workday for me various based on the seasonal factor. As, I am working for the Consulting/Advisory department I found during the off seasons or non busy periods (which are less) are same as a normal office environment, where you come to the work by 8:30 and leave by 5pm and less pressure as you are reviewing your audits. The typical workday is also changes form your position because during the audits junior staff (associates, analysts, graduate accountants, audit seniors, interns) have to preform processes that takes lots of time and basically to perform those tasks it takes for that 8hours per day, when it comes to management level most of the time it involves reviewing, report writing, negotiating and dealing with the client and if your partner or director have requested additional information or clarifications you have to preform them plus more responsibility towards the auditing tasks. During the audit seasons or busy days (depends on the industry and financial year endings) it is going to be hectic if you don't have a proper skills to manage your time and the tasks. As you are providing services to the clients (out siders) not to your company they expects more from you, so before the dead lines you have to preform the audit duties, which makes you to stay late (for me during October -December and May -July).
Since, its always about the team work you will find lots of interesting people in big 4 from various backgrounds and ethnicities who would like to share there knowledge and friendship with you. Even though, it can be a hectic working days, you can always enjoy the work and you will never get bored as you will be working for different industries from mining, retail, property development, software companies, banks and aviation.
