Hi Khristian,
There are many part-time jobs that can help with acquiring skills for your future career. The most relevant type of part-time job would be one in your desired career field. For example, if you desire to be an accountant, having a part-time accounting internship could allow you to sharpen your accounting skills, learn about office culture, etc. However, you can also use skills from part-time jobs that aren't in your desired career field. Other part-time jobs can allow you to develop transferable skills like communication, team-work, organization, etc. Those types of skills can be brought to any job that you work at, whether accounting, being a dancer, or anything else.

Hi Khristian, may I tell you a story? When I was a sophomore in high school I moved to a small town in Alaska from the Midwest. The Alaska town had one radio station. It's programming pretty much excluded teenagers. So I walked down to the station and told them so. Well after a couple of visits they challenged me. "Find a sponsor and we'll give you 30 minutes Saturday afternoon to play music aimed at teenagers". I did and that is how at age 15 I became a radio announcer.
What's the point? Find something in which you are sincerely interested, or highly motivated about, to pursue your part time employment. What 'moves' you? What are you most interested about? Look for companies that do that sort of thing. Approach those firms. Be 'aggressive' in your efforts. Don't take no for an answer if it is something very important to you. Smile. You get away with all kinds of (legal) action if you are smiling at the time!!!
I have a hunch you'll do very well, my friend.
Good luck!!!

Getting a part-time job that aligns to your future career aspirations is always a plus. However, this may or may not always be possible for students, especially in high school. That said, many jobs have what are called transferrable skills. Skills such as customer service are transferrable to a variety of industries. For example, having the pressure of a busy night at a restaurant waiting tables but keeping guests happy can translate to a fast-paced business environment more than you would think.
