Laws related to business outside?the USA
What is the best thing to study in Business law or things you wish you had studied before graduating? I'm starting my second business law class in a little while. I found landlord laws to be super difficult.

You will want to study hard anything that will educate you on business entities (corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies, professional corporations, etc.). Also land use planning, corporate law and antitrust would be beneficial.

I would find classes in international business and global business. Because of globalization, there are many resources on countries, cultures, laws, and governments that would be helpful.

Hi Rachel,
Finance and economics are great classes to take if you want to work in business law. As for specific international issues, I do a lot of international legal work related to data privacy. To the best extent you can, it would be good to understand how modern internet-connected devices work, the type of data they collect and process, and why. This area of law is evolving worldwide. Learning about it could be foundational to a fulfilling career!

On the one hand, I agree with Jackson above : it would be very worthwhile to understand the wider, interconnected global business world. An understanding of international politics and culture, the context in which business operates, would also serve you well.
I don't know your background of course, apart from noting you are based in Oregon, but since you labeled your question the way that you did, I encourage you to think beyond the boundaries of the United States.
Otherwise: the only things I wish I had studied before I graduated are the things that truly interested me, but that I did not study because of some mis-perceived pressure to focus on "the right things." As defined by other people. So the best advice I can give you here is -- truly, the best thing to study is/are the topic/topics that fascinate you, hold your interest, and which you are passionate about.
