How to continue helathy while in university?

Being a student I barely have time for anything and what worries my most is my health. I don't exercise as much now and when I don't have time to cook I end up buying pizza. Do you have any tips on how to stay healthy while in university?

Thanks? #university #health #lifestyle #healthy-lifestyle

Thank you comment icon I recommend a vegan diet. It's free of saturated fat and cholesterol, and makes it super easy to make sure you get all of your vitamins and minerals. Best of luck! Brittany

Not a very complex solution...but here is what I can offer. Look for opportunities to take a long walk each day. Also, use the My Fitness app and count your calories. I have found that using this app and being aware of my calorie intake has been the most effective way to lose weight.

Make small and realistic goals for yourself! Take time to exercise, it will also relieve your stress while in college. Think about it, you have 24 hours in a day - you can more likely than not allocate 45 minutes of that day towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the form of exercise. Walks, jogs, trips to the gym, fun hikes with friends, and so forth all count!! It will also make you feel less guilty about pizza every now and then. Also remember that maintaining a balanced diet will contribute to your overall energy levels in college. Prepackaged salads, sandwiches, proteins and veggies are all great. Opt for an apple instead of bag of chips. Water instead of soda. Small little daily choices have a big impact on overall health.

Maintaining your health while having a busy school schedule is absolutely possible! However, I do understand the difficulties of this. Try to make small changes where you can. Instead of ordering a pizza, order a salad with fulfilling toppings/meat. When grabbing a snack, eat a nutritious bar instead of a bag of chips. These changes are definitely worth it as you will start to see shifts in your energy levels & mood. With regards to exercise, my advice would be to set a realistic goal for yourself that you can stick to. Even if it is just getting outside for a walk - any movement is good! What has helped me maintain health during super busy times is to make a set plan for the day that includes the tasks I must accomplish, what meals/snacks I will eat, and when I will squeeze in some kind of movement/exercise. Lastly, an easy change to promote better health is to drink more water!! You can do this!

Couple of advices -
1. Add healthy habits to your everyday schedule - walking to college, consistent sleep cycle, etc.
2. Fix 1 hr of 'Me' time - Turn off your phone, switch off your laptop and do your excercise/activity. I used to play soccer for an hr everyday. It will be difficult in start. Your peers will reach out to you at taht time, you would have some submission or something. But once you make it a habit - everyone will let you be for that 1 hr. You will yourself schedule things around that 1 hr. try that
