Hi Mathias,
You have gotten some great advice. The one element that I would add if you are going on to college, make sure to start looking for an applying for scholarships. And do not just focus on scholarships for the fall. I would say that throughout your college life, you should apply for scholarships all along the way.

These answers are being submitted on behalf of a group of student interns at Cloudera:
Really put yourself out there and join a lot of groups in school, extracurricular activities like sports, etc.
Try to get all your assignments done as quick as possible because senioritis is real and bad, so it's better to have everything done right away so you don't have to worry about it when senioritis hits.
Have an idea and plan of where you want to go after high school by talking to and getting advice from your school counselor and teachers.

Hi Mathias,
The advice I would give is to enjoy your senior year while planning for the future. You should be deciding if you want to go to college (if yes, you should be applying), if you want to take a gap year, if you want to go directly into the workforce, etc. At the same time, you should enjoy your last year in high school! You're only a high school senior once and therefore you should take advantage of the time to attend senior activities like prom, graduation, senior trip and so on.

Hi Mathias, I think it's important to always remember to try to enjoy your senior year, despite all the pressures you may feel. Try to do things that will help you figure out what's coming next in life, whether it is spending time with friends who may be living in a different place after high school, or attending new events/trying new things to see if they inspire you. The combination of living in the moment while looking to tomorrow should help you continue to grow and also ensure you don't look back with any regrets.
Best of luck with everything.

Hi Mathias,
For college route, make sure you get your SAT/ACT score if needed, your grades are good, apply to any scholarships and fafsa, and that your college applications are in! Keep an eye on rank if you need it but have fun too! Many people slide in rank in senior year but I would have rather slid down than worked as hard as I did that year--try to strike a balance. It is your last year in high school after all! Do what you like school-wise as well before your next chapter!

Learn how to concentrate and focus. Unless your phone is being use to help you do home work, put it away. This advise comes from my son who is a junior in college. He informed me that most college kids in his circle have not learned how to concentrate and he was one of them.

Hi Mathias! I definitely agree with everyone on taking the time to enjoy your senior year, you earned it! Try to come up with a game plan of what your next 6-12 months looks like. Are you planning on going to college? A trade school? Taking a year off to travel abroad? There's no wrong answer but all options require some preparation! I would also suggest talking to your family/friends/counselors about how to best navigate life after senior year and how you can accomplish your upcoming goals.
Wishing you the best of luck!

While senior year can get busy very quickly and you want to do as much as possible, ensure you are making the time to explore all of your possibilities - both in terms of your future education, plans, etc, and what you want to pursue. You may experience "senioritis" and feel less motivation at times, but it is important to maintain your grades (keep them up!) and continue working hard to finish strong and follow through to the end. Senior year can be a good time to continue elevating your GPA in case prior years you did not do as well as you wanted to. Senior year is still an important time and just as valuable for colleges to look at. Continue working towards scholarships, if applicable, and plan ahead so you know what you are working towards and making the most of your time. Utilize resources around you, whether it is at school, in your community, etc. to help achieve your goals and balance your time.

Hi Mathias! This is a great question! I would honestly advise to look into your plans after high school, if it's college or something else. Do your research establish a plan/goal and start working towards it. Despite all the pressures you may feel from your peer, remember to not stress too much, as it is your last year of highschool! I would also suggest creating healthy habits to implement in your years to come. Good luck, hope you have a great last year!
