I did not choose my school based on a specific career I thought I wanted to pursue. Instead, I chose a school that aligned with what I valued about education and the college experience-- will the school teach me how to be a critical thinker? does the school have the community support I need to succeed? will the school/fellow students push me to grow?
Based on my experience, most people who enter college with a specific field/career they want to pursue change directions over the course of their 4 years, so I wouldn't anchor too much on a current perception of career aspirations. Rather, I would think more holistically about how a school will shape who you are and how your engage with the world.

Hi Meila,
I'm currently majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a Minor in Bioinformatics! There's a lot of Biology and Sciences involved but I do attend a school that heavily emphasizes the sciences. I am on the Pre-Med track as well as holding positions in several organizations on campus. The school I currently attend has an emphasis on the importance of research, science as well as other categories in exploring careers in this field. It's always difficult to try to figure these things out but it's also more important to go with what you're interests are and what you see yourself doing happily several years from now.

Hi, so I was actually influenced by the job I had during initial college years. I was working in the pharmacy and really liked it so, I decided to pursue that and chose the university that offers the program.

I chose Eastern Kentucky University as it was a good fit for me. Upon visiting the campus it felt right & comfortable. I was involved in sorority life in addition to other clubs & new building relationships. Helping others was important to me so I pursued a degree in that field. Go with what you love or instinctively volunteer for as you'll naturally shine & others will see it too. Through doing what you love, the path will be revealed. Best of luck!

Thank you for your question. It was actually at my gym when I met a sports oriented chiropractor. He told me about the profession and I knew right away this career was for me. I was in a Cal State school taking general courses when this occurred. I immediately reconfigured my classes to meet the prerequisites for Cleveland Chiropractic College. Before meeting that chiropractor I truly did not know what I wanted to do. I always loved training and physical culture so this was an epiphany for me.
