Salary depends on location and setting. Skilled nursing facilities pay more than most acute care positions and definitely than schools.

A background in biology is amazing to have as a speech language pathologist. Are you interested in working a cancer center? a nursing home? a school? The pay of a speech language pathologist differs based on setting. A pay of a speech language pathologist further differs based on their status: contract, travel, per diem, full time, temporary to permanent. There is not a magic number that you can nor should depend on. Depending on funding of a facility, you can have two hospitals within the same district actually have different pay scales. You may want to use the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics average as a starting point and add as needed during your interview negotiations to be comfortable with your housing.
